The major network studios unanimously declared 2006 “The Year of the Spyder” with successes including Katie Couric's CBS News, CNN's Anderson Cooper 360, NFL on CBS, TF1 France, The Golf Channel, and NBC Sports. The Spyder family of video processors offers complete solutions for broadcast and has been adopted as the on air video processor of choice by the industry.
Spyder’s multi-channel, extreme resolution format independent architecture provides just what the broadcast sector has been searching for. Spyder is fully capable of supporting multi display environments at resolutions that exceed HDTV. With Spyder you can create millions of pixels of background “canvas” allowing you to “paint” live multi format sources be it DVI, HDSDI, analog or composite at resolutions up to 2048x1200 onto single or multiple displays. This means live camera feeds computer graphics and prerecorded video media can all be introduced on screen simultaneously providing a mixture of digital and analog windows displayed over a high resolution background source or digital still. The layout of these sources can be manipulated live or handled in a scripted environment to react with certain cues in the program. News stories can fly on and off screen, multiple off site guests can be windowed onto a single screen via prerecorded media or satellite feeds and studio logos and graphics can be combined with aforementioned sources across single or multiple displays. Spyder has a full compliment of effects to be employed as you size, merge and transition sources including borders, shadows, mixers and morphs, cloning and linear keying.
Whether your set displays are comprised of LCD/DLP projection, cube arrays or plasmas, Spyder’s advanced processing technology can feed each display at it’s native resolution eliminating the need for interfaces that may lead to frame delays and overall signal degradation. The Vista Systems Spyder has been recognized as the processor of choice for image critical viewing environments. With the mandated switch to HDTV drawing closer, Spyder also ensures that the network studios are equipped now and into the future.
In addition to broadcast, Spyder’s advanced feature set has contributed to success stories across many other market segments that call for pristine imagery. Some of these include defense, command and control, scientific visualization, as well as houses of worship and corporate presentation environments.
