Phoenix - July 8, 2005 -- When an array of international recording artists paid tribute to the late Pope John Paul II with a concert in Rome on June 2, Vista Systems' Spyder played an important role in displaying the big-screen images which served as a backdrop for the performances.
Broadcast by Italy's RAI 1 from Rome's Olympic Stadium, the concert featured Spyder screen projectors and three contiguous screens measuring 40x10 meters. French-based VLS used four 25,000-lumens of Christie projection and Vista Systems' Spyder to permit images to seamlessly span the triple screens and to manage video, Dataton WATCHOUT and a Pioneer VJ (video disc jockey controller).
The screen projections ranged from a montage of children's faces, colorful abstract patterns, graffiti and stylized butterflies to portraits of Pope John Paul II dressed in his papal robes and clad in more casual attire at his retreat in the mountains.
Vista Systems' switchers have become the industry standard for live multiple-destination video and data mixed signal switching. For more information on Vista Systems, visit their Web site at www. vistasystems.net.
