Phoenix (June 6, 2007) -- London-based Joy’s Production Services teamed Vista Systems’ Spyder image processing with a new 3DLive realtime 3D graphics system, exclusive to Joy’s, and HD projectors for the M&IT Awards show at the Novotel London West. Joy’s, a widescreen and multiscreen presentation company, handled tech staging and production for the annual gala presentation dinner organized by Meeting & Incentive Travel magazine. The event brings together various sectors of the industry to reward excellence of service and product and to raise funds for Save The Children.
Our Spyder systems and HD projectors are well known for delivering on widescreen and multiscreen events. The addition of 3DLive gives us a real edge in producing and delivering first-class screen content, says Managing Director Peter Joy.
For the gala evening Joy’s employed a pair of Spyder 344 systems with optical DM feeds; two Lightning 35HD projectors of 18K lumens each; a 17x5 meter screen; a 3DLive system with two 1920x1080 DM outputs; and a PPU feed for live cameras.
The screen presentations were achieved by pre-building the 3D environment then referencing all the award nominations, winners and Save The Children auction totals direct from a spreadsheet. This enabled ‘dummy’ data to be used for rehearsals, keeping the winners secret until the awards ceremony began. Spyder processed the positioning and framing of the camera feeds, which were laid over graphics. Spyder also performed edge blending between the HD projectors to produce a final widescreen image.
By adding Joy’s new 3DLive system to Spyder image processing and HD projection Peter Joy feels his company has again raised the bar for live events. We will continue to innovate on our clients’ behalf to ensure the best in screen presentation keeps getting better, he remarked.
