Vista Systems' Spyder Saves

Versatile Device Tapped for Three More Churches: Southeast Christian Church, People's Church and Christ Church of the Valley

Phoenix, (May 13, 2005) - The Spyder video processing and windowing system has taken houses of worship by storm with three new installations in the Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, KY; the People's Church in Fresno, CA and Christ Church of the Valley in Peoria, AZ.

Southeast Christian Church

At the Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, the Spyder will be a part of a flexible system permitting six or seven different shows for the 20,000-member congregation who attend services in the 9,600-seat theater. The church is known for appealing to a younger audience with an edgy, visually-intense presentation. Integrator John Ott of Mankin Media in Nashville commented, "They intend to tear down and set up a new multi-media presentation every few weeks. Spyder gives them to flexibility to have lots of different looks for projection and plasma displays. No other system offers what Spyder does; that's why Vista is the industry leader."

People's Church

John Glancy, integrator with AMT Systems in Santa Clarita, California, has completed the installation of a Spyder 4x4, with three main rear-projection screens and five balcony front projectors at Fresno's People's Church. Available sources include four computer sources, a Panasonic WJMX 50 video mixer for live-cameras feeds on an S-video input, VCR and DVD playback. "They're using Spyder as a basic switcher so they can switch three projectors and balcony screens simultaneously as well as do subtle window overlays," he explained. "They've been very happy with the system. They were eager to use the system's effects capabilities and believe they've been able to dramatically improve the look and feel of their presentations."

Christ Church of the Valley

In Peoria, Arizona, Christ Church of the Valley holds three or four big sermon services weekly mostly for junior high, high school and college students. Its AV installation includes Spyder and a large set of central double screens flanked by single screens. Sources numbering video, live camera, graphics and PowerPoint presentations enable the creation of elaborate shows with multiple images and themes based on contemporary issues. "We love Spyder even though we're not using its full potential yet," noted the church's Chad Macon. "The Spyders allow us to let the projectors become an extension of our lighting so we can do a moving background with strobe effects. We also like to change aspect ratios for our video elements. Spyder is fantastic -- easy to use, easy to program. You can use it as basically or as advanced as you want based on what your show requires."

Last year, Vista Systems' Spyder was installed in the Rock of Gainesville Church in Gainesville, Florida by integrator Presentation Specialties.
